Cathy Wyler Christensen

Cathy Wyler Christensen passed away on February 23, 2016.  Just a few days shy of her 75th birthday.  She was born in Idaho, but decided to make Utah her home after traveling down from the gem state to attend and eventually graduate from Stevens-Henager College.  She was preceded in death by her dad, Charles Wyler; her mother, Irene Spencer Wyler; and her sister, Anne Wyler.  Cathy married Kent (Hack) Christensen in 1962, but they later divorced.  Cathy is survived by her daughter, Heidi Christensen; her grandson, Clay Wright; her brother, Alan “Big Bubba” Wyler; her sister, Diane Wyler Leatham; one brother-in-law, John Leatham; and three very special sisters-in-law, Brenda Wyler, Sue Barker, and Karolyn Linger.

Cathy had an over the top work ethic.  She received many awards and accolades from her employers throughout the years.  She worked for many years at Prudential Insurance, Sears Department Store, and eventually retired from ATK Thiokol after 17 years of service.

Cathy was a lifelong horse woman.  Horses were her most favorite thing except maybe her grandson, Clay.  She was an antique fan to the max.  If there was an old and ugly piece of furniture in her path, she had to have it.  She had a knack for making those old things lovely again.  She also had a affliction for tiny tables in the living room, tiny tables in the bathroom, and tiny tables in the yard.  Her worst addictions were to Diet Coke, coconut, and the occasional glass of wine.  She was one funny lady and was a master in the use of sarcasm.  Needless to say she will be missed, but remembered with happy thoughts.

Please help celebrate Cathy’s life with friends visiting family on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. or at one of Cathy’s favorite local places, the Ogden Nature Center, 966 West 12th St., Ogden, from 6 to 8 p.m.  No flowers please.  Donations to the Ogden Nature Center was Cathy’s wish.  801-621-7595 or on the website at ogdennaturecenter.org under the support drop down.
