Cecil Lee Rhoades

Cecil Lee Rhoades, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1927 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Cecil Bolton and LeEttia Rhoades. He served in the United States Navy as a Ship Fitter 3rd Class during World War II and served on the USS Intrepid.
He married Ethel Jones they had six children and later divorced. He married Virginia Mae Stevenson on February 2, 1970 in Las Vegas, NV, bringing in four more children. Virginia passed away on June 24, 2005.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, bowling, gardening, and was a Nascar #3 fan.
Cecil is survived by his children, Cecil L. (Robin) Rhoades, Rodney E (Merry) Rhoades, Iris (James) Wheeler, and Marie J. (Larry) Clay; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel; and second wife, Virginia; daughter, Kelly Ray Larsen; and son, Melvin L. Rhoades.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
