Celia Marie DeHerrera, 85, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home.
Celia was born on July 16, 1926 in San Antonio, Colorado the daughter of Rafael and Regina Lopez Martinez.
She married Celedonio DeHerrera on November 13, 1941 in Antonito, Colorado.
Celia was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Altar Society. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Association and enjoyed outings and traveling.
She loved sewing, embroidering, crocheting, cooking, canning, gardening, fishing, camping and anything to do with family activities. She devoted her life to her family and especially enjoyed family functions and get togethers.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph, Grand Junction, CO; Robert, Layton; Steven (Pat), West Haven; two daughters, Nancy Payne, Richmond, KY; Gloria (Douglas) Terry, Layton; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mannie Quintana, Alamosa, CO; and Stella Fulk, Roy.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Marcos, Tony, Albert and one sister, Rafaelita.
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 So. Chapel Street, Layton. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
