Cellersteen Fairman celebrated the day after Easter, April 23, 2019, in the presence of the Lord, her husband, parents, other relatives, and friends. She was born December 1, 1936 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Barty and Lillie Smith to the delight of her brother Luther.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Marzell (Steamboat) Fairman, in 1946. The Mississippians moved to Utah after Marzell found work at Hill Air Force Base in Layton.
Cellersteen got a job cleaning the home of Hod Sanders, the founder of the Clover Club potato chip company. She left the Sanders to care for patients at the Garden Home Training Center, where residents were smitten by her unconditional love, nicknaming her “Blossom”. After leaving the Center, she worked in the Layton High School cafeteria, shining the light of love upon students, faculty, and co-workers, until she retired.
Cellersteen shined that same Christian light where ever she went, and everyone who came to her home felt the Spirit of the Lord. She protected her children like a mother hen and taught them how to spread the love of the Lord with people in their circle of life.
Cellersteen and Marzell will someday welcome their children into the kingdom: Marzell Jr., Billy Ray, Colleen, Johnny O’Neil, Terry ‘Tojo’, Gary ‘Bo’ (Lisa), and Katrina. They will also be reunited one day with their grandchildren Kristel, J.R., Reno Jr., Ammie, Shealynn, Ariel, Baylor, Blair, Faolyn, Patrick, Courtnie, Candace, and Elissa, along with their precious flock of great-grandchildren.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
kindness, goodness, self-control.” – Galatians 5:22
The Fairman children would like to thank the Comfort WoRX Hospice team and especially Bri for countless time who loved and cared for “Blossom,” preparing her for her after-Easter celebration and reunion.
