Chad McGavin

Gordon Lee Chad McGavin, 55, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his home following a tragic accident. He was born January 25, 1955 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Lorin Keith and Ida Mae DeWitt McGavin. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1973. On September 6, 1980, Chad married Jeanne Moss in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Together they had two wonderful sons, Brendon and Cody. Chad worked for Thiokol for 16 years, he then went on to work as a salesman and manager in the automotive and RV industry. He was well respected by his colleagues and customers. Chad was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and yard work. He cherished the time spent with his family on numerous camping trips. They celebrated all holidays together as a family. Chad is survived by his wife and best friend, Jeanne; two sons, Brendon Chad, Ogden; Lorin Cody, West Haven; and three sisters, Deidre Frank, Kaysville; Jill (Keith) Lythgoe, Ogden; and Terri McGavin, Layton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Greg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1st at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
