Chad Perkins

Chad Perkins returned to his eternal home with our loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 after a hard fought battle with Melanoma. Our dear husband, father, brother, son, grandpa, neighbor and friend passed away at his home in West Point surrounded by his family.

Chad, 57, was born April 19, 1954 in Salt Lake City to Dale and Pat Perkins. After graduating from Clearfield High in 1972, he went to work for his dad at his auto body shop. He later purchased the shop, Perk''s Auto Body, from his dad that he and his wife operated together.

On August 11, 1971, Chad married his high school sweetheart, Denece Dahl and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he truly lived and breathed the go and do attitude. He served, and helped others serve, in several capacities to build up our Heavenly Father''s Kingdom on Earth. He loved serving as Bishop of the West Point 1st Ward.

Nothing in his life was partial or halfway. When he tried something, he really invested his time and money into the craft until he was an expert. This was exemplified on the golf course, snowmobiling, hunting, cars, road biking (completed ''LOTOJA'' three times), his church callings, family devotion, diet and exercise, and especially gardening.

Chad is survived by his wife, Denece; four children, Christopher (Gayle) Perkins, West Point; Heather (Jeff) Turner, West Point; Hillary (Travis) Dallinga, North Ogden; Jennifer (Daniel) Gladwell, Ogden; 11 grandchildren, Kendra, Preston, Kiersten, Raquelle, Madelynn, Blake, Garret, Isabelle, Cole, Parley and Cosette; his siblings, Karie, Joe, David, Danny, Mary, and Shane; his parents, Dale and Pat, of Nibley; and Denece''s parents, Claude and Bonnie Dahl, of West Point.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heidi, his grandparents, and his sister-in-law, Jackie Dahl.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside LDS Stake Center, 800 North 4000 West, West Point.

Friends may visit with Chad''s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 22nd at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, West Point Cemetery.
