Charles William Dever slipped from this life to the next on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah at the IMC hospital. Chuck, as he was known, was the son of Arlo Francis Dever and Alma Irene Janke. He was born on March 7, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He married Sandra Lilian Clark in Leicester, England and together raised four children. They later divorced. In 1997, Chuck married Linda Marie Garritson and added four stepchildren. Together there are 22 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Chuck served with the United States Air Force for 25 years and while he served in several positions, his main job was a F-15 jet mechanic. He was dedicated to the Air Force and advanced to the rank of Master Sergeant. After 25 years of service in the military, Chuck became a long-haul trucker. He drove 18 wheelers cross country hitting the 3.5-million-mile mark before retiring from trucking. Chuck was kind to strangers and often said “I get more with honey, than with vinegar”. He will be missed by his friends.
A private graveside ceremony will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park. 17111 1700 W, Bluffdale, UT.
