Charles Joseph Esposito was born 60 years ago in Seattle, Washington but moved to Utah when he was 10. He lived in Utah most of his life.
Charles graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School, Ogden, in 1982, where he ran track and cross country and participated in drama productions. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1988 and then obtained his Master’s in mathematics at the University of Utah in 1992. He later obtained a second degree from the University of Utah in electrical engineering.
While at Gonzaga, he met the woman who would become his wife, Janet Ingebritson. Charles and Janet were married in Ogden 30 years ago. They were living in Bountiful at the time they got married and moved to their current residence in Layton 14 years ago.
Charles was employed at HAFB for the last 17 years. Charles, while not working, was an avid skier during the winter and rode mountain bikes and off-road motorcycles during the summer. In addition, Charles enjoyed running enough to complete his first marathon at age 50 and two more marathons after that. While not spending time outdoors, Charles enjoyed hanging out at home with his wife and cats.
Everyone who knew Charles appreciated his sense of humor, kindness, and humility.
