CHARLES CLAY KRUGER
1925-2016
Charles Clay Kruger, son of Clay B. and Nellie O. Kruger, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at home with his family beside him.
Charles worked for Salt Lake County as a traffic engineer, from 1982-2004 when he retired. He loved the Navy and served during WWII. He was part of the Mercury/Gemini Aerospace projects and an inventor of rocket parts and military weapons.., our “Rocket Scientist”. Afterwards he donated generously to the Navy Memorial, WWII Memorial and Wounded Warrior projects.
He leaves behind a son, Chuck (DJ) and daughter, Linda Chugg; grandchildren Jim (Katie) Sales, Jeff (Chanda) Sales, Cody (Faye) Kruger, Amy (Paul) Fleming and Jake Kruger; and 8 great-grandchildren James, Brayden, Austin, Kylee, Brooke, Jaxton, Asher, Liberty, who made him smile; a sister Audrey (Bob) Hargrave and lots of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, of 35 years, who died on 2/20/1985 and a son, Larance who died on 7/10/1957.
The Kruger family would like to thank CNS Hospice, Julie, Rachel, Kim and Cheryl for their dedication to make Dad as comfortable as possible for the last 3 years. Without them, this journey would have been so much harder. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Navy Memorial or the Wounded Warriors.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21st at Bountiful City Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 6-8 p.m.at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, UT and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the mortuary prior to the service at the cemetery.
