Charles Anthony Maurer Jr.
Charles Anthony Maurer Jr., returned to his loving Heavenly Father on December 23, 2014, from complications following bypass surgery.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 19 years, Billie Jo Maurer; his step children: 6 sons and 5 daughters, 23 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his best friend and brother, Larry M. Maurer and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his late wife Frances and his parents.
Charlie enlisted in the Navy in 1967 and served honorably for 16 years, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal, fourth award in 1983. Charlie is known for his “Navy Stories” and making people laugh. People were instantly drawn to him and his contagious personality. He loved being a member of the Wam RC Club and flying his planes. He enjoyed his grandkids and loved visiting with his brother on the phone and the recent trip they took to Florida for the Navy reunion. He loved spending time with his loving companion, they enjoyed traveling the Oregon Coast and spending time with family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 9 th Ward, 2841 W. 1300 N., Clinton. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
