Charles L. "Chuck" McCombs

Charles L. “Chuck” McCombs LAYTON – Charles McCombs, 71, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 in Clearfield, Utah. He was born June 20, 1938, the son of Harold Franklin and Mildred Irene Marshall McCombs. He married Sharon Kay Richardson on December 31, 1957 and they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on April 4, 1972. Chuck served as an air traffic controller in the Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed as a real estate broker. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and was instrumental in the Venture Scout program from its inception. He loved woodworking, golfing and outdoor activities. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon; children Anita Thompson (Gary), Michelle Collier (Glen), Doug McCombs (Maureen), Alisa McAlpine (Tom), John McCombs (LaRobyn); 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nine of his 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday, December 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 at the mortuary. Interment, West Point City Cemetery.
