Charles “Charley” P. Morgan
OGDEN – Charles “Charley” Peterson Morgan, 44, our loving son, husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 29, 2008 from complications of an AVM brain hemorrhage. He was surrounded by family and friends.
He was the only son of Dan Detton and Sheri P. Morgan. He was later adopted by Ted Morgan, who was a very loving father.
In 1985, Charley met and fell in love with Shirley Ann Hanson and her son, Ryan Michael. The following year they were happily married. He later adopted Ryan to love and raise as his own. They went on to have two more sons, Nicholas Peterson and Charles Alexander. He devoted his life to his family and friends.
He was a lifelong resident of Ogden. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, later attending Westminster College and Weber State University.
Charley was an avid historian, a competitive basketball player and a music enthusiast. He had a wicked sense of humor and was a great prankster. He had a smile that would absolutely light up a room and energy that everyone wanted to be around. His favorite pastime was being the Captain of his house boat at Lake Powell.
He opened Software Plus in 1987. It started as a small computer retail store. Through hard work and perseverance he grew it into a large corporation spanning the West and winning numerous small business awards including the Governors “Outstanding Small Business Award”.
Charley generously volunteered his time and resources to many charities, foundations and schools, including starting the computer lab at St. Joseph’s High School.
He lived a life of luxury, but appreciated the true simplicity of life.
Goodbye Charley – we will miss you. May you rest in eternal peace and happiness.
