C. Fred Negley, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 surrounded by loved ones.

He was born March 29, 1928, the son of Oliver Fluke and Vera Loree Crummy Negley. He proudly served in the Army 7th Cavalry and was a Korea War Veteran.

He married the love of his life, Audrey Grau, on June 25, 1955 and enjoyed 55-1/2 wonderful years together residing in PA, MI, OH, NE and UT.

He was the proud father of six children, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He worked for Transcom Lines as chief dispatcher for 35-1/2 years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on his 1939 Buick Special, woodworking in his shop, watching Sawyer''s baseball games, working in his yard, watching Gunsmoke and trips to Wendover.

Surviving are his wife Audrey; sons Bruce (Leslie), Fremont, NE; Terry, Papillion NE; Randy, Millard, NE; Todd, Omaha, NE; daughters Pamela Negley, Bennington, NE; Yvonne (Robert) Morain, Syracuse, UT; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and his sister Martha Negley, Gibsonia PA.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Francis and sister Olive Jean.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton where military honors will be accorded.
