Charles William Robertson
ROY a" Charles W. (Robbie) Robertson 85, of Clearfield and Roy, passed away of natural causes on May 28, 2010. He was born in Bayard, Iowa on August 25, 1924 but was reared and educated in Caldwell, Idaho. Following high school graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as Torpedo man on a PT boat in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged April 1, 1946.
He attended watch maker school in Denver, Colorado and continued to repair watches for most of his life.
On October 2, 1950 he married Donna Kabris and shared 59 years of family, friends and outdoor activities.
They moved to Utah in 1955 where he worked at Hill Air Force Base as a systems Specialist and was Director of Maintenance at his retirement in 1982. Then they spent winters in Yuma and summers in Clearfield and Roy.
He is survived by his wife Donna, three sons: Raymond (Liz), Clearfield; Dale, Clinton; Mark, Salt Lake City; a sister June (Richard) Winder, Caldwell, Idaho; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lois Robertson and two brothers, Robert and Jay.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday June 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road where military honors will be accorded. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Symbii Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
