Charles "Merrill" Sessions, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 after a battle with lymphoma. He was born March 19, 1932 in Ogden to Charles Elmer and May Maude Quick Sessions. He graduated from Davis High in 1950, then from BYU, and taught school in Davis County for 37 years.
Merrill married Kathleen Clayton in 1956 and they were later divorced. He married Joyce Elaine Heber Senczyszyn on March 26, 1983 in the LDS Ogden Temple. He served in many LDS callings, was a missionary in South Africa in the early 1950s and was an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for ten years. He was a member of the SUP, enjoyed gardening and family history.
Merrill is survived by his wife Joyce; children: Michael (Elsie), Chicago, IL; Kenneth (Pam), Everett, WA; Stanley (Dawn), Boise, ID; George (Andrea) North Bend, OR; Christopher (Grace), Cadiz, KY; Timothy (Mikelle) Syracuse, UT; Mayleen (Christopher) Lund, Syracuse, UT; stepchildren: Linda (Steve) Stalter, Michael (Diane) Senczyszyn; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Frank, Fred, Ben and sisters Jean Parker, Betty Paul and Mary Jensen. Preceded in death by his parents, two young sisters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Syracuse 1st Ward, 720 South 2500 West. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
