Charles Ellis Steed

October 29, 1938 — January 9, 2025

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Charles Ellis Steed, 86, passed away on Thursday January 9, 2025. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to Wilkie Charles and Ruth Amelia Ellis Steed. Charles was the oldest of four children, Elizabeth, Steed Schueman – deceased, Paul (Margaret) Steed of Monmouth, OR; and Robert (Debbie) Steed of Brigham City,

Charles was “A” good student at Burch Elementary, South Jr. High, and graduated from Weber High School, classes at Weber State College and became a Master Electrician working 20 plus years at Cache Electric and later 13 years for the Weber County School District and 1995 was named Classified Employee of the Year for his excellence as an electrician, He helped to wire the Tower at Hill Air Force Base and the main computer building at HAFB along with brother-in-law, Paul Bullock, who said at the time he was the best electrician in the State of Utah. 

With first wife, Kay Wescoatt, they were blessed with three wonderful children, Mark (Samantha) of Pocatello, ID, Susan of Smithfield, and Jerald (Rose) of Pahoa, Hawaii; and 31 grand and great-grandchildren; and 29 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Charles was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife Paula were sealed for eternity in the Bountiful LDS Temple for nearly 28 years ago. They enjoyed traveling across the U S and Canada where Charles competed and won many awards in radio control airplane contests. They enjoyed their travels throughout Europe and visiting sites where their ancestors once lived to help with Genealogical Research.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Wednesday, January 15th at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank Inspiration Home Health and Hospice, Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, Amble Wound Care, AM Senior Medical Group, Mt Ogden Health and Rehabilitation Center, and the staff nurses, aides, and doctors at Ogden Clinic. 

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take the time to make a difference in someone else’s life here on Earth, whether it be an act of kindness, a donation or simply giving your time where it may be needed. That’s what Charles would have wanted.
