Charles Richard Thomas, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
He was born March 15, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Nyron H. Thomas and Gerdie Barton. He was raised and educated in Roy and graduated from Weber High School.
On February 5, Chuck married Carol Ann White in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served a full time mission in the Netherlands. He also served as a High Priest and numerous other callings.
He was involved in the Scouting program for many years, serving as a district commissioner, and received his silver beaver. He has a son and grandsons who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scouts.
Chuck worked for Continental Bakery for over 35 years and the Weber School District for ten years. He was known by all because of his friendly wave, and big smile. He enjoyed boating, camping, water skiing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol Ann, Ogden; one son, Rodger C. (Chandra) Thomas, Roy; one daughter, Karla (Robert) Adams, Pleasant View; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three brothers, David (Connie) Thomas, Donald S. (Connie) Thomas, Glen (Kim) Thomas; and four sisters, Maurine (Ray) Hull, Joanne (David) Rhees , Bonnie (David) Ziemski, and Barbara (Richard) Dunn. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Nyron and one sister, Betty.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday July 13, 2015 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
