Charles Junior Wheat our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend, peacefully completed his journey here in mortality on Friday, August 21, 2009 at his home in the care of his loving family. After an extended illness his Father in Heaven said, "Enough" and he was released to the arms of his family waiting for him.

He was born April 27, 1926 to Charles Orson and Leona Shupe Wheat. He married his high school sweetheart Jeanann Goodart and from this union came a son. They divorced. He married Sharlene Clark and they had a son, they divorced. On December 10, 1972 he married Ida May Creamer. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple February 4, 1978. Together they have two beautiful daughters.

Charles proudly and honorably served his country in WWII with the US Marines. He was rated 4th in his battalion for marksmanship. He fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He loved working as a brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was later employed and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He liked to read and was a very self-educated man. He liked to travel, camp and enjoyed all kinds of music, especially jazz. His many varied life experiences made a wonderful caring man. He never judged and was accepting of everyone, a quality that endeared him to all. Anyone who knew him was the richer for it.

His greatest joy in life was his family. He so much loved being with them. We have many wonderful family memories with him.

He is survived by his wife Ida May, daughters Stephanie Michelle (Stephen) Moore, Lehi, UT; Collette Naomi, Salt Lake City, UT; Gregory (Susan) Hallal, Minnesota; Michael Scott (Wendy) Wheat, Willard, UT; grandchildren Dana Hallal, Minnesota; Scott Hallal, Hawaii; Cody, Aspen and Bryce Moore, Lehi, UT.

Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Deerfield Ward Chapel, 4322 S. 5400 W. West Valley City, UT. Friends may call at the Church, Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wed. from 9:45- 10:45 am prior to services. Interment Liberty Utah Cemetery with military honors accorded.
