Charlotte Gallegos

May 22, 1927 — April 5, 2019

Charlotte Gallegos, 91, from Layton, Utah passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born in Fürth, Germany, on May 22, 1927, and moved to the United States as a war bride.

She was a mother of 12 children whom she loved very much. She loved to cook, knit and crochet. Charlotte had numerous friends, which would all agree that she was always the light of the room with an infectious personality. Her Catholic devotion was very important, and she remained faithful until her very last breath.

She is survived by her children; Robert Gallegos, Roy (Mary) Gallegos, Charlotte (John) D’ostilio, Henry (Wendi) Gallegos, Helen (Dan) Evans, Grace (Brian) Weaver, Margaret (Ira) Rinehart, Mary (Mike) MacKay, Joseph (Nora) Gallegos and Vicki (Gary) Sorensen, 33 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Jose Gallegos, son Norbert Gallegos, daughter Rita Clarke and grandsons Charlie (C.J.) Gallegos, and John Gallegos.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah, 84041. Friends may visit with the family Monday, April 8, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
