Cheryl Schow Young
January 6, 1961 – January 1, 2018
Our wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend departed this life on Monday January 1st, 2018 after a strong and lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Cheryl was born on January 6th, 1961 to Morgan & Bonnie Schow in Salt Lake City, UT. She grew up in Fruit Heights, UT and was a graduate of Davis High School.
She met and married Curtis Young in 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served numerous callings including scouting, the nursery and her last and most treasured calling of serving in the presidency for the local Special Needs Primary. She spent more than a decade in the service of the Davis School District as a secretary and served on the Executive Board for the ‘Festival of Trees’ for several years.
Cheryl is survived by her mother Bonnie, her three children; Camille (Andrew) Allsop, Aaron (Tina) Young and Spencer Young as well as her three grandchildren; Rylee, Carson & McKinlee Allsop, siblings; DeAnn (Jim) Schroader, Lauri (Stewart) Matthews, Steven (April) Schow and Kristi (Cory) Martinsen, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Morgan Grant Schow and her beloved grandparents.
The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to Sallie Huntington and her staff at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield for the loving care they provided.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
