Chester G. Crowther
Chester G. Crowther, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2012. He was born on March 21, 1915 to Albert L. and Ellen Groberg Crowther.
On February 26, 1941 he married Fern Delilah Bullock in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
In June of 1942 Chester joined the US Army Air Corps and served as Staff Sergeant in WWII.
Chester was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as Missionary to Sweden, High Priest Group Leader, Branch President, High Counselor, in Bishoprics, as a temple worker, record extraction, Sunday School Teacher and many other callings.
He was a member of the Lions Club, on the Volunteer Fire Department, Fire Commissioner in Mtn. Green, Utah and a member of Toastmasters and Golden Spike Gem and Rock Societies. He enjoyed doing community service; lapidary gem and rock work and rock hounding. He loved spending time camping and gardening.
Chester is survived by his children, Jay B (Rebecca) Crowther, Victor G (Carol) Crowther, Marvin C (Norene) Crowther, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Delilah Bullock Crowther, parents, two brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
