Chris passed away at home on April 19, 2018 due to complications from diabetes.

He was born October 11, 1950 in Ogden, Utah to Wanda Barlow and Earl L. Peterson. His parents later divorced. His mother married Dale Barton who was a wonderful father to Chris. The family lived in Sunset and Chris graduated from Clearfield High School.

He attended Weber State College and later worked and retired from the beer distribution industry.

He had many hobbies throughout his life including drag racing, classic cars, and model railroading.

On April 30, 1982, Chris married Christine Malan Richins. They enjoyed vacationing, camping and family get togethers. Chris loved being a grandfather. He spent time fishing and four wheeling with his grandson and attending soccer games with his granddaughter.

Chris is survived by his wife, Christine Peterson, children Brett (Amy) Richins and Krista (Julius) Airam; grandchildren, Jerry David Richins and Julia Christine Airam; siblings, Kenneth B. (Gayla) Barton and Susan D. Barton; and his cat, Ms. Flower. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, and his two Cocker Spaniels, Bo and Scruffy.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday April 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association or A New Beginning Animal Rescue.
