Christel Elisabeth Schmidt Reames

June 24, 1954 – July 18, 2014

Kaysville, UT - Christel Reames was born in Bochum, Germany to Hildegard Huebner and Friedrich Schmidt.  She immigrated to the USA from Gelsenkirchen, Germany in April, 1972.

Married Robert Lee Reames on May 23, 1973.  She was a hairdresser for 30 years.  Christel was very talented and excelled in anything she set her mind to.  She loved traveling the world.  Her family was always the most important thing in her life.  She was devoted to the LDS faith.

Christel is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by Robert, her husband of 41 years, children: Nicole Reames, Michelle (Andrew) Burns, Angela (Daniel) Guertler, Rebecca (Mitchell) Davis, Jessica (Michael) Allen, Bryan (Chelsea) Reames, Matthew Reames, 14 cherished grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters, along with 40 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express gratitude to the doctors and staff that have helped her over the years, as well as the many generous acts of kindness given on Christel’s behalf.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield Ward Chapel, 1085 N. 50 E., Kaysville, UT.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
