Christine C. Holden

1948 ~ 2016

Our beloved and beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully, returning home to her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Chris was born to Charles “Crit” and Ruth Fowers Crittenden on July 13, 1948 in Ogden, UT.  She was raised in Ogden, graduated from Ogden High School, and attended Weber State University.

In 1966, Chris met the love of her life, Tom Holden.  They have been soul mates ever since.  On June 3, 1967, Tom and Chris were married.  This coming June, they would have celebrated their 49th year of marriage.

Chris’ greatest joy in life was raising her five children.  She taught them many wonderful things; most importantly to love and respect each other.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she taught Primary and Young Womens.  She loved her family, cooking, sewing, reading, camping, fishing, and many wonderful weekends at their family cabin in the High Uintas.

Chris was active in her children’s education through serving in the PTA for many years in various capacities.  She was the MarLon Hills Elementary School PTA President during the 1978-79 school year.  Chris was also involved in community causes as she was a member of the Junior League of Ogden and was one of the original founders of the Family Support Center of Ogden.  She especially enjoyed her membership in the McKay-Dee Women’s Council.  She worked for many years in the medical field and retired from Ridgeline Endoscopy Center.

She was a delightful woman with a wonderfully infectious smile that could light up a room.  She is loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Chris is survived by her husband, Tom Holden; as well as her children, John (Kim) Holden, Jeff (Cheri) Holden, James Holden (Lorena), Joe (Amy) Holden, and Jenny (Shad) DeGiulio, 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Lee (Pam) Crittenden and Gary (Cathy) Crittenden.  She was preceded in death by her loving parents.

Our family would like to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful care and support that she received from Legacy House of Ogden Alzheimer’s Cottage staff and residents as well as Aspire Health Care/Hospice and their staff.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
