Christine "Chris" Olsen

Dorothy Christine Olsen, 73, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 peacefully in her sleep at home.

She was born on March 18, 1940 in Salt Lake City to Ruth Helen Dickamore. She was raised in and attended schools in Ogden.

Christine married Ronald F. Olsen in 1956. Together they had four children and later divorced.

She was a longtime resident of Roy, where she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Frank Dallimore. She retired from Albertson''s Supermarket after 30 years of dedicated service. She made many friendships that she truly cherished throughout her lifetime. Mom greatly enjoyed the company of her many dear friends and neighbors.

Chris was an avid reader who enjoyed exchanging and sharing books with friends. She loved theater and was a season ticket holder at Capital Theater for many years. She also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in growing beautiful roses. She was proud to be a breast cancer survivor.

Surviving are her sons, Shane (Jennifer) Olsen and Perry (Janna) Olsen; daughter, Ronda Olsen; sister, Edna (Blaine) Sparrow; brothers, Edward Benson and Fred (Myrl) Benson; six grandchildren, Sarah (Evan) Fitzgerald, Ryker (Kortney) Olsen, Landon (Tracey) Olsen, Jordan (Cami) Olsen, Tanner Olsen and Conner Olsen; and four great-grandchildren, Braxton and Ty Fitzgerald, Penn Olsen, Lola Olsen, and her loyal cat, Yetti.

Chris was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin; her mother, Ruth Templeman; step-fathers, Fredrick Benson and Thomas Templeman; sister, Emma Haven; sister-in-law, Sharon Benson; and great-granddaughter, Taya Fitzgerald.

Family will meet with friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Private inurnment at a later date.
