CHYROLL RAMPTON EVANS

June 27, 1935 – June 15, 2014

Chyroll Rampton Evans, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on her 61 st wedding anniversary, Sunday, June 15, 2014 of Cortical Basal Degeneration.

She was born on June 27, 1935 to James John and Ruby Rich Rampton in Syracuse, Utah.

Chyroll graduated from Ogden High School in 1953 and two weeks later on June 15, she married Bob G. Evans - together they had three children.

While in high school she worked at Judy’s Ice Cream Parlor. After her children were in school fulltime she worked for Dr. Grant H. Way for 22 years.

Chyroll had a deep love for her family and friends.  She was happiest when she was entertaining and cooking for them. She will be remembered for making the holidays extraordinary and magical.  She created family traditions that tied her family together and will endure.  She loved shopping with her granddaughters, vacationing with her friends, spending time in Bear Lake during the summer, and celebrating New Years in Mesquite.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a primary teacher, visiting teacher, and on the Relief Society Homemaking Committee.

Chyroll is survived by her loving husband, Bob; children, Lorri Thurgood, South Ogden; Leslie (Greg) Fowler, Layton; R. Mitch Evans (Allen Carpenter), San Francisco, CA;  two brothers, James Richard Rampton, Salt Lake City; and  Terry (Vicki) Larson, Logan; and sister-in-law Sue Rampton, Salt Lake City. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren that she loved and adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Colleen.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to IHC Hospice, Lissa, RN, and Stephanie, CNA for their kindness and loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5 th Ward, 350 West 5100 South . Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, South Morgan Cemetery, 350 S. St. Morgan, Utah
