Clair "Bud" Lee Taylor

Clair “Bud” Lee Taylor, 92, a lifetime resident of Farr West, UT, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023. He was born in Ogden, UT, on March 16, 1931, the son of Lee Clair and Alice Belle Lee Taylor.

He joined the Army in 1950 as a Sergeant serving as an ammo foreman during the Korean War, where he earned the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Stars, a commendation, and a Presidential Unit Citation. On December 10, 2016 he was awarded the South Korea’s Ambassador Peace Medal.

Bud married the love of his life, Dorothy E. Worton on December 15, 1951 in Morgan, UT. They spent 62 years together before Dorothy’s passing on June 26, 2013.

He worked and retired from Hill Air Force Base. He also enjoyed driving airboats for Pin Tail Duck Club.

Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, but his favorite was riding 4-wheelers. He loved helping with cutting and bailing hay.

Bud is survived by his daughter, Pamela J. (Dennis) Wilcox of Farr West; sons, Clair L. Taylor, Jr. of Willard; Steven L. (Susan) Taylor of Athol, ID, and Kevin (Vickie) Taylor of Farr West; five grandchildren, Justin H. (Kristina) Taylor, Mindy L. (Benjamin) Weston, April M. Smith, Jessica L. (Russell) Mickelsen, and Kevin Kameron (Carmela) Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren, Megan T. (Robert) Tope, Katelyn K. Taylor, Zane M. Smith, Zoey L. Vincent, Skylee F. Mickelsen, Aubrey R. Mickelsen, Benjamin “Ford” Weston, Jr., Payson R. Taylor, and Jed M. Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. W. Taylor and grandson, Rory L. Taylor.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
