Claire Boyd Fullmer

KAYSVILLE – Claire Boyd Fullmer, 86, passed away peaceably and quietly surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

The oldest of five children, Claire was born on February 1, 1929 to Clarence and Thelma Stauffer Fullmer in Logan, Utah.

He grew up in Logan and learned to hunt and fish at a young age with his father. As a teenager this passion grew as he worked for a sporting goods store. He enjoyed these activities with family and many dear friends up until his recent decline in health.

Claire married Janet Rawlings of Fairview, Idaho in the Logan Temple on June 2, 1950. They lived in Logan and eventually moved to Kaysville to be closer to his employment at Hill Air Force Base. In 1984 he retired and went to work for Morton Thiokol.

Claire belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was an active member all of his life. Claire and Janet served a mission in Charleston, West Virginia and later in the church offices in Salt Lake. They were among the first workers in the Bountiful Temple. After their missions they enjoyed spending time at their second home in St. George, where they have many great friends.

Claire was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Andrea Joy Fullmer, and brother-in-law Frank Denson.

He is survived by his wife, three sons Steven (Sandy) Fullmer, Jon (Pam) Fullmer, and Todd (Molly) Fullmer; one daughter Jana (Craig) Johnson, 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. All of his grandsons have served missions, the youngest currently in Korea. He is also survived by his siblings Frank (Karren) Fullmer, Norma Denson, Charles (Andrea) Fullmer, and Audre (Jerry) Wursten.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Encompass Hospice, especially Tammy and Marnie for their tender loving care of Claire.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 4 th Ward, 875 E. 200 N., Kaysville. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
