Claire K. Nelson
OGDEN – With much love, the family and friends of Claire Krumperman Nelson bid her farewell on her final life’s journey. Claire died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, June 12, 2009. It was her 75th birthday.
Claire was born June 12, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to her parents, Leslie V. and Una Ogden Krumperman. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952.
In July of 1952, she married Paul Nelson. They divorced in 1973.
She moved to California where she adopted two girls. Claire lived with a sense of adventure and wonder, and enjoyed many world travels. She enjoyed living and traveling in many Asian and European countries, especially Thailand and Germany. Claire returned to her hometown and followed a career in finance, first at the Ogden Credit Bureau and later as Vice President of McKay-Dee Credit Union. Following her retirement, she continued to work with her dear friend, Brenda Freeman, at State Farm Insurance in Layton.
Claire loved all of life: people, animals and nature. The world was filled with delights to Claire. She was an avid reader and Utah Jazz fan. Food, art, cultures, gardening, camping, traveling, entertaining – she loved it all. Claire’s huge heart embraced everyone she knew. Dogs were especially cherished by her, and she shared her life with many. Benji boy, her furry, faithful companion and best friend, lived with her for 16 years until he passed in 2007.
Most of all, Claire loved her family and friends who were in her company daily and all of whom will miss her dearly.
Surviving are her daughters, Susan Arnold, Dallas, TX; Carol (Anthony) Moore, Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Kristine (Patrick) Knutson, Patricia (Kaden) Kamerath, Paul (Pae) Randall, Samuel Randall and Milana Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dean (Donna) Krumperman, and Robert (Adele) Krumperman, both of Ogden; eight nephews and nieces; her new canine friend, and many more loved ones.
