Claire W. Polete

Claire W. Polete OGDEN - Claire “Kitty” Witten Polete, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Ogden following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born May 23, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to James Henry and Laura Moore Witten. She lived most of her life in Ogden and several years in Evanston, Wyoming attending both Ogden and Evanston schools. Kitty was employed for many years by American Linen, and retired from the Utah State Industrial School where she worked in the cafeteria. Her favorite hobby was working in her yard and flower gardens. She is survived by her son, Kent Polete, Ogden, UT; three grandchildren, Mike Polete and Randy Polete, both of Miami, FL; and Alan Polete, Clearfield, UT; and four great-grandchildren. Four nephews and two nieces also survive her. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Joseph Henry Witten and sister, Anna Laura Witten Weber. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 11 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Cremation and services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
