Clairene Staker Mathews

You have just been gone a few days but you are so deeply missed. A quiet silence is in our hearts, but the love and memories will live on forever.
Clairene was born on December 8, 1936 to her parents Erma Gladys Bingham and John Staker. She was raised, and lived in Ogden, Utah.
Clairene was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Henry Mathews; her mother, Erma Gladys Bingham; and her beloved sister, Jean Tree.
Clairene was surrounded by her family. She is survived by her brother, Lowel Staker. She has three daughters, Julie Mathews Johnson, Karyn Bernier, and Laurie Mathews and her husband, Christian Thornton. Her grandchildren are Jade Johnson, Ian Mathew Johnson, Kylie Holt, Cameron Bird, and Maddi Bernier. She also has three great-grandchildren.
Clairene loved cooking, crafting, gardening, and her church. But above all, she loved her family. Everyone who met her, loved and adored her. She was very selfless and generous and was happiest when she was helping others. She touched so many people's lives.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends will visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
The family would like to express a special thanks to everyone who enriched her life and loved her. She loves you all.
