Clara Miller Byrd

Clara Miller Byrd Our kind and loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away to join her many loved ones who had passed before her on the morning of Thursday, March 26, 2009 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 28, 1928 in Syracuse, Utah the daughter of Seymour Allen and Clara Bell Barton Miller. Clara married Lowell Amos Byrd on December 2, 1944 in Evanston, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1986. Clara was a member of the LDS Church. She worked as a beautician for 20 years and bowled on a league for 20 years. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family. She always displayed unselfish love and devotion to her family and friends. Surviving are her three sons, Allen L. (Shirly) Byrd, West Point; Ronald M. Byrd, Salt Lake City; Kevin M. (Shellee) Byrd, Clinton; three daughters, Sharon Jansen, Las Vegas, NV; Sandra (Doug) Shafer, Clinton; Tamie (Butch) Wren, Layton; brother, Lamar Miller, Clinton; 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Nancy Jean Ross. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 30, 09 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden. Friends and family may call Monday from 12:30 to1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
