Our loving Sister, Mother, and Grandmother Clara Dorlene Russell Gumbrecht (86) passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Layton, Utah.

Dorlene was born on June 6, 1927 in Elberta, Utah and raised in Wellington, Utah where she attended Carbon High School in Price, Utah and later graduated from Davis High School.

She married Orlan Walter Gumbrecht in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 15, 1945. They resided in Wellington and later moved to Layton. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 12, 1964. Dorlene worked as a teacher in the Sunday school, Primary, and Young Women programs. She also held a position as a secretary in her ward Relief Society.

Although, she occasionally worked part time jobs her most joy came from staying home and spending time with her husband and children. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and canning. She helped her children learn to cook and sew in the 4-H Club and was involved in the Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader and a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America.

Dorlene loved all her family dearly and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her two sisters Barbara (Gordon) Solt and Katherine (Vernon) Rich, children, Russell (Pierette) Gumbrecht, Kurt (Kerry) Gumbrecht, Raymond (Robin) Gumbrecht, Paul (Rebecca) Gumbrecht, Elise Gumbrecht, Valorie (Don) Tyrrell, and son-in-law Kenneth Christison. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dorlene is preceded in death by her mother Martha Clara Olson Russell, husband Orlan Gumbrecht, and daughter AnnaLee Gumbrecht Christison.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 12 p.m. at the Wellington Cemetery. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
