Clara Helena Timonen - Jarvi

December 11, 1926 ~ April 26, 2021

Clara T. Jarvi, age 94, passed away peacefully in her room at Chancellor’s Gardens on April 26, 2021. She was born in her family home in Red Lodge, MT to Isaac Timonen and Maria Jalokoski - Timonen and was the youngest of 14 siblings.

Clara married George Hendrik Jarvi on January 31, 1975 in Red Lodge, MT. Her beloved husband passed away on November 30, 1996. Although they never had children of their own; they adored their nieces and nephews including the grand-nieces/nephews, great-grand nieces/nephews and great-great grand nieces/nephews.

Clara worked 30 years as Clerk of Court in Red Lodge (Carbon County District Court). She loved knowing the people of her hometown and helping them any way she possibly could. Clara was well known for her sense of humor and love for a great “joke”. Clara loved to travel and visited all but 2 of the 50 states. She also loved to socialize and entertain her family and friends whether in her home or out on the town. Clara was well known for her generosity and willingness to help any family member or friend in need.

Clara moved to Texas to be close to her last living sister Lillian Mildred Tucker (Aunt Mimi) and niece April for 4 years before moving to Utah where she lived her last 2 ½  years to be close to the Thompson family (Bob, Laura, Taylor and Ashlyn). Clara was preceded in death by all of her siblings who she dearly missed. Clara is survived by her many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.

Special thanks to all the team at Chancellor Gardens and Applegate Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care and memories. Clara greatly appreciated the help provided to her from Doug and Vernetta Brown, Bob and Laura Thompson, Dennis and Debra Karina, April Grabowski - Din and Audra Bintz.

A celebration of life will be held in Red Lodge, MT for family and friends this summer.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
