Clarean Combe Ricketts, age 84, of Ogden, Utah passed away on December 21, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 12, 1928 in Ogden, Utah to Laura Beatrice Parker Combe and Jule Combe. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She married Delbert Robert Ricketts on August 26, 1947 and was married for 37 years before his passing on January 20, 1984.
She worked at Utah Knitting Mills, Sierra Lingerie, The Coat Factory and Smiths. She enjoyed knitting crocheting, reading and sewing and was an excellent seamstress for many years. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles (FOE).
Clarean is survived by her children: Cliff (Linda) Ricketts, Durango, Colorado; Debbie (Kent) Hepner, Jeannie (Lindsey) Yamashita, both of Layton, Utah; Scott (Sherrie) Ricketts, Roy, Utah; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Robert Ricketts; grandson, Travis Allen Ricketts; parents and two siblings.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1780 Combe Road, Ogden.
Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
The family wishes in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to Huntsman Cancer Institute.
The family would like to thank all her many doctors, nurses, and staff at the U of U hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute. A special thanks to Vista Home Care for all their wonderful help, care and compassion.
