Clarence Dawson Nelson

Clarence Dawson Nelson, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Lakeview Hospital. He was born on June 30, 1932 to Clarence Sherman and Florence Dawson Nelson in Ogden, Utah. Clarence graduated from Ogden High School. He moved to Morgan where he resided for 16 years before returning to Ogden where he has lived since.

He enjoyed working alongside his brother, Gary, at their co-owned auto and snowmobile shop, Clair''s Specialized Service. Clarence was a man who would give you the shirt off his back, but would also give you his straightforward advice. You always knew where he stood.

Clarence loved life. Some of his most favorite times were spent snowmobiling, golfing and fishing.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Clarence is survived by his sons, Gary (Tamako), North Las Vegas, Nevada and James (Val) Morgan, Utah; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, D. Gary Nelson (JoAnn) Milton; and sister, Lettie L. (Terry) Taylor, Roy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Caleb.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
