LAYTON - Clarence Reed Rigby, 86, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Saturday August 20, 2011.

Reed was born December 7, 1924 in Bancroft Idaho to Alfred and Lillian Rigby. He and his family moved to Kaysville when he was two.

Reed attended Davis High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon returning home he met and married Lela Teeter of Yost Utah in 1948. They were blessed with two sons. Reed was a very loving and protective husband and father.

Reed worked at Hill Air Force Base and Defense Contract Administration Services for 36 years and for Weber Basin Water after that.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and loved spending time in his garden.

Reed was also a member of the LDS church and served in many capacities.

He is survived by his wife Lela of 63 years and his two sons, Kevin (Jaclynne) of Kaysville, and Stan of Layton. His grandchildren: Alicia (Kevin Jr.) Hatch, Jessica (Tony) Smith, Lydia Rigby, Connor Rigby, and Olivia Rigby. Great-grandchildren: Chloe, Maddison, Cash, and Scarlett Hatch, Indie and Eden Smith, and a sister Marjorie Sparks.

Reed is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville LDS Tabernacle, 198 W. Center Street. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home, 1102 North 1200 W Ogden Ut. 84404.
