Clarence David Viator
Clarence David Viator passed away surrounded by family on December 21, 2016 at the age of 84 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home.
C.D. served in the Navy as an Airdale Aircraft Mechanic helper on the line service. He was proud to have served his country during the Korean War where he received a Korean Service Medal. He dedicated most of his life being involved in the DAV organization where he proudly served as State Commander. He enjoyed the DAV conventions and attended them all over the nation. He also enjoyed being a member of the Honor Guard for many years.
C.D. married the love of his life, Pearl Jean Jaques in Elko, Nevada. Together they built a family and a life with six children. They celebrated a 50th year anniversary before his love passed ten days later.
C.D. was a hard working man and great provider for his family. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 36 years, Burns Security as a security guard, volunteered at the DAV thrift store, and Defense Commissary as a bagger. He enjoyed working and being around people.
C.D. had a way of not letting anyone or anything bother him. He had a zest for life and his personal philosophy was, “What the Hell!” He lived his life that way to the very end. His laughter was contagious, and his conversations will be remembered as we laugh out loud thinking about them and his “he he” laugh and those blue eyes that told a story all on their own.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pearl Jean Viator and sister, Barbara Jean Dickens.
Clarence is survived by his children, Tresea K. Snow (Dan), James D. Viator (Donna), Terry K. Wood, Tamara A. Milarski (Don), John M. Viator (Kim), Christine Viator, 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
