OGDEN a€" Clarice Louise Bell Bjorklund, 97, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at her home in Ogden from complications of a stroke.

She was born October 30, 1910 in Ogden, a daughter of Wallace Ridgeway and Maude Marriott Bell.

On June 18, 1947, Clarice married Louis Jay Bjorklund in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Louis preceded her in death on August 29, 1996.

She lived in Torrington, Wyoming for two years; Fort Morgan, Colorado for three years; Carlsbad, New Mexico for three years; Albuquerque, New Mexico for five years; Bountiful, Utah for one year; and most of her life in the Ogden area. She graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College with an Associates Degree.

Clarice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a Visiting Teacher for many years. She was the Sunday School Secretary for 25 years and in Carlsbad, New Mexico she served as the Primary President. She also led the music and played the piano.

She was a seamstress and later was the Assistant Post Master at the Defense Depot Branch. She went to work in the dark and came home in the dark.

Clarice enjoyed long walks of up to 30 blocks. She got out every day until August 27, 2007. She would always ask, "Are we going anywhere in the car today?". She enjoyed working Circle Circle puzzles and reading mystery books. She knitted several afghans, sweaters, and vests, and crocheted tablecloths. Clarice also sewed, made latch hook rugs and did several paintings.

Surviving are her daughter, Maudene Bjorklund of Ogden and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Louis, her parents and her brother, Harold Bell.

The family expresses thanks to Applegate Hospice and Comfort Keepers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Kenneth Comam officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
