Clark Ford Doxey
January 23, 1933 ~ March 28, 2015
Our beloved Father and example, Clark Ford Doxey, 82, was reunited with the love of his life, Jocile G. Doxey, when he passed away early Saturday morning due to complications resulting from Alzheimer’s disease. Born January 23, 1933 in Ogden to Jack Clark and Thelma Ford Doxey, he was the first of 8 children.
After graduation from Ogden high school Clark served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. During that time he married Jocile Giles on the 28 th of October 1953 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple spending 43 memorable years together, prior to her passing on the 24 th of May 1997.
Clark and Jocile made their home in Huntsville where they raised seven children. While he was working he went back to school earning his Bachelors of Science in Geography/Geology from Weber State College.
Throughout his life he was a skilled teacher and carpenter. Clark worked in the maintenance department for Ogden School District from 1982 to 2004 where he retired. He was a model of hard work and service.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he enjoyed serving in the Sunday School Presidency and as the High Priest Group Leader, but the highlight of his Church service was as a Temple Worker for many years.
Clark will be remembered as a caring and loving father who genuinely appreciated others and whose comfort he sought before his own. He did not know a stranger and was recognized and loved by many and he will be dearly missed.
Clark is survived by Brent Clark (Dawn) Doxey, Tacoma, WA, Garth David (Suzanne) Doxey, Roy, Susan (Richard) Spainhower, Eden, Janiece (Douglas) Spainhower, Huntsville, Matthew Kirk (Vicki) Doxey, Springville, and Keith Giles (Gayle) Doxey, Smithfield; 24 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Ford Doxey of Ogden, Jack Clark Doxey of North Ogden, Robert Thomas Doxey of Roy; and sisters, Patricia “Pat” Bradley of Lehi and Ann Spencer of Eden.
