Clark Duane Hansen
(February 13, 1951 a" July 29, 2012)
LAYTON - On Sunday, July 29, 2012, surrounded by dear friends, Clark finished his journey on earth and was welcomed home.
Clark was born February 13, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Duane and Lena Hansen. He attended school in Cache and Davis counties. He graduated from Clearfield High School. He was an obedient and helpful son, a loving brother and a favorite uncle. He was a hard worker, had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.
Clark was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he faithfully served in ward callings and in weekly temple work. He worked as a volunteer in the Ogden LDS temple cafeteria and was a regular volunteer at the Bishop''s Storehouse in Layton, Utah.
Clark worked on a maintenance crew at Hill Air Force Base for over 30 years. He was awarded Civilian Employee of the year by the 419th FW at HAFB for his exceptional service.
He retired in 2008 and moved to Layton where he enjoyed a slower pace of life. He loved the Layton park area and could often be found there feeding the ducks, walking, biking, picnicking, having fun at the pool or taking part in the annual summer concert series. Clark especially enjoyed spending time with friends at his apartment complex. They could always be seen sitting together in the shade enjoying fun conversation and being together.
Clark leaves behind many who will greatly miss his warm and friendly nature, his huge bear hugs, happy smiles, fun jokes and enthusiasm for life. We will always cherish the memories of his pure heart and gentle ways.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Duane Hansen, his brother, Brent Hansen, and nephew, Kyle Nichols. Clark is survived by his brother, Dee J. Hansen of Layton, Utah, and his sisters Joy Nielsen (Jay) Okinawa, Japan, Kim Nichols (Greg) Bountiful, Utah and Beverly Schenk Hansen (Brother Brent, deceased) Centerville, Utah and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles whom he dearly loved.
