Clark Shaw

May 25, 1954 — June 26, 2021

The man. The myth. The Legend. The Covid didn't get him, but the Melanoma did.

Clark Shaw (67) of Clinton went by many names: Clarkie, Fat Daddy, Harry, Uncle Clark, Bubba, Brother, Dad, Poppa and Grandpa. He lived a life full of adventure that included countless motorcycle, hunting and camping trips. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1973 and was passionate about playing and watching football.

He was able to have many experiences in his travels around the world, his favorite being South Africa which he went back to five times for visits with his "adopted" family Michael and Bianca Knox who own Kuru Safaris.

Clark was always his kids' number one fan and supported them in all of their activities. He instilled in them that it's OK not to enjoy an activity or sport, but you still see it through to the end. Always give 110%. He made it clear how proud he was of each of them.

Clark retired from Kimberly-Clark after 29 years of service.

Clark is survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years Colleen, his son Lucas, son Jake (Kaz) Shaw and daughter Amber (Doug) Bullock, and four grandchildren that he cherished and spoiled, Jerden, Dazlin, River and Juniper.

Four beloved sisters and their families: Susan Bryner, Leann (Dan) Hammer, Lynne (Dave) Olsen, Sandy (Dan) Bodily. And Coleen.

He is also survived by many amazing friends. To include every name would need many pages in this obituary. But you know who you are, and you have helped enrich Clark's life. He loved you all dearly. We will all miss his clever wit and charm, but we know his stories will live on.

We know that he is now catching up with his parents Lowell and Virginia Shaw and his "brothers" Butch and Ron. They came and escorted him to his next adventure.

We thank his teams at The Huntsman Cancer Institute. They gave him three years more than we thought we would get, and they treated him with such kindness, care and compassion and moved mountains to give him more time.

Clark was never a fan of funerals, so we held a Going Away party a short time ago after we received the news that he didn't have much time left. The turnout of friends and people who he has made an impact on over the years was incredible. He left this earth knowing that he was loved and respected by a great many people.

There will be no funeral or internment. Clark wished to be cremated and his family will leave a part of him all over the world in their future travels.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation directly to The Huntsman Cancer Institute. And get your skin checked regularly. Melanoma is a brutal beast.

When one ride ends, another one begins.

Viva la Clarence Bennett!
