Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father and Savior on March 26, 2023. Clark grew up in South Weber, Utah with his parents, Delbert Whittle Smith and Mildred Keyes Smith, and three sisters. He loved growing up on a farm, caring for animals, and tending crops. He met the love of his life and eternal companion, Kathleen Rowley, and they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 2, 1967.
Shortly after getting married, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for three years in Heilbronn, Germany. After his time in the military, he began working at Hill Air Force Base as an electronic technician and later a software programmer for nearly 30 years. During this time, he and Kathy raised 5 children. They hauled their family of seven to Berlin, Germany, for a three-year assignment where he worked at Tempelhof Air Force Base during the height of the Cold War.
After his retirement from Hill Air Force Base, he found enjoyment at The Home Depot helping everyone who walked in the door. In July 2014, he and Kathy set off to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. Petersburg, Russia. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He also loved having dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith of Kaysville, Utah; children, Tony and Kristin Smith of Hooper, Utah, Gregory and Kristin Smith of West Point, Utah, Mike and Chandra Streadbeck of Kaysville, Utah, Paul and Wendy Orme of West Point, Utah, and Alicia Holmes of Kaysville, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 11 grandchildren adopted through marriage; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Karen Dearing and Pat Miller of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Shirley (Jerry) Kennedy of Washington Terrace, Utah; and 2 sweet grandchildren, Daxton and Sarah Holmes.
