Claudia Joy Fisher Streuper

January 19, 1960 — March 17, 2025

Roy

Claudia Joy Fisher Streuper, 65, of Roy, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A devoted wife, mother, Oma, and friend, Claudia’s life was defined by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a deep commitment to service.

Born on January 19, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Don Eldred and Norma Rae Lyon Fisher, Claudia was the second of four children. From a young age, she exhibited a strong sense of responsibility and compassion, traits that would later define both her personal and professional life. She grew up in a loving home where faith and service were central, shaping her into the remarkable woman she became. She attended West High School, where she excelled academically and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Claudia served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tokyo North Mission. It was an experience that deepened her faith and solidified her lifelong love for the Savior and for serving others. Before leaving, she met the love of her life, Grietus Streuper, and their bond grew even stronger during their time apart. Grietus faithfully waited for her return, and upon completing her mission, the two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 4, 1983. Their love story was one of devotion, faith, and partnership, setting a beautiful example for their children and grandchildren.

Claudia and Grietus built a home filled with warmth, faith, and laughter. She lovingly welcomed Grietus’ son from a previous marriage, Dale (Callie) Harvey, as her own, and together they had three children: Kase (Val), Autumn (Dane) Struve, and Spencer (Paisley). As a mother, she was gentle yet strong, always encouraging her children to pursue their dreams while ensuring they remained grounded in their faith.

Despite the demands of raising a young family, Claudia pursued her education with dedication, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing from Weber State University and later a master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management. Her career was a testament to her unwavering compassion and commitment to helping others. She served as the School Nurse Supervisor for Weber County School District, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of thousands of children.

As a respected leader in her field, Claudia served as President Emeritus of the Utah School Nurse Association and was honored as the Utah School Nurse Administrator of the Year in 2018. She was a mentor and advocate for school nurses throughout the state. Her work touched the lives of countless children, and her legacy continues through the many nurses she trained and inspired.

Service was the foundation of Claudia’s life. She held numerous callings in the Church, including Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, Primary President, Stake Primary President, and many other leadership roles. She led with quiet strength and humility, always focused on lifting others and creating a sense of belonging.

After retiring, Claudia and Grietus embarked on one of their greatest adventures—serving a full-time mission together in the Cape Coast Ghana Mission. As the mission nurse, Claudia provided not only medical care but also emotional and spiritual support to the missionaries and members in the region. She cherished the people she met in Ghana and often spoke of the faith and resilience she witnessed there.

Claudia’s life was centered on her deep and abiding love for the Savior, Jesus Christ. She followed His example in all that she did. Her testimony was not just spoken but lived—through her kindness, her willingness to lift those in need, and her unwavering trust in God’s plan. Whether through her Church service, her work as a nurse, or the quiet moments of love and guidance she shared with her family, Claudia radiated Christlike love. She found joy in studying the scriptures, attending the temple, and teaching her children and grandchildren about the power of faith. Even in her final days, she faced her trials with grace and trust in the Lord.

Beyond her professional and church service, Claudia had a love for learning, reading, gardening, riding her bike and traveling. She believed that life was meant to be experienced fully, and she took every opportunity to explore new places, meet new people, and create cherished memories with her family. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children and 11 grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She embraced the role of "Oma" with her whole heart, creating a home where her grandchildren felt safe, loved, and endlessly supported.

Claudia is survived by her loving husband, her four children, eleven adoring grandchildren, and her siblings. She also leaves behind a large extended family and countless dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love.
