Clayton Garth Cash
August 4, 1950 ~ October 21, 2015
Clay passed away at the age of 65 on October 21, 2015 unexpectedly due to complications from cancer surgery. He was the son of Garth Cash and Jean Hamblin, born on August 4, 1950 in Ogden, Utah. Clay attended Roy High School.
He married Judy Simms. They divorced, later he married Gina Vogt where they blended his, hers, and ours to make a complete family and were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple.
In 1969 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a drill instructor and later served in the Air Force Reserves. He worked at Jetway and retired from Lifetime Products.
Clay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Clay enjoyed being with his family and was known for his famous potato salad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, and coaching his son’s baseball teams. But his biggest joy came from working with the Special Olympics, where he coached many sports.
Clay is survived by his wife Gina of 37 years; son, Todd (Deanna) Skeen; daughter, Kim (Jody) Harris; son, Cody (Trista) Cash; son, Terry Cash; daughter, Lisa (Todd) Kopecky; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and his daughter Amie Cash.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
