Cleide De Abreu Dobarrio September 18, 1941 — July 8, 2024, Clinton UT Cleide de Abreu Dobarrio, our Queen, will be missed by many. On July 8th, Cleide unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind an immense and irreplaceable hole in the hearts of many family and friends. Cleide was loved by all her family and friends, she was always smiling and had open arms to a big hug. She was the light of our lives.

Cleide was born and raised in Santos, Brazil. She dedicated her life to music and her family. She started learning accordion and piano when she was 6 years old and since then music was present in her life until the day, she left us. She was invited for many musical Academies to play from a very young age and began to attend clubs and association in the Portuguese Community in Santos. Over the years she received invites to play accordion in the folklore band, she was also the choreographer and Founder of Folklore Group Verde Gaio, at Centro Cultural Portugues de Santos.

On April 7th ,1972 Cleide married Sergio Dobarrio Rodrigues and after the birth of her kids Raquel and Gustavo, she dedicated her time exclusively to the family ,but because the music was in” her blood”, she never stop to play piano , during this time of her life she fell in love with the modern keyboards and got invited to play on Sunday’s Mass at Basilica Menor de Santo Antonio do Embare (Catholic Church), where she played for 40 years . When kids start to grown up she felt she wanted to keep her music career, she starts to teach piano, keyboard and accordion and created a band with her sister Cleia de Abreu Trindade, they were a huge success, especially when they do concerts to the Portuguese Community, singing Fado , her most loved and favorite song style.

She was a Star, our Star!!!

She was always dedicated to help others, she also taught music to kids in a Philanthropic Center in a remote and poor area, created by a nun, Sister Maria, in Praia Grande. She won the Title of The Women of The Year in 2002.

With all the public love and recognition, she thought was time to make another dream real, she create and conducted 2(two) choirs ,one with her friends from Portuguese community that included her mom in it (they just sang Portuguese and traditional Portuguese songs ) and another for the Spanish Club of Santos , honoring her husband and in laws that were from Spain ( traditional Spanish songs). They were invited to many events and participated on many Choirs Encounters all around the State.

After her husband passed away, her kids who live in Utah, brought her to stay with them and enjoy the grandkids Alice and Gustavo Filho. at the time she got in Utah, Parkinson’s disease (she was diagnosed in 2012) start to be more aggressive and she had to slow down a little but never left her passion, she was always singing songs and seated at the keyboard playing a little.
