Clement “Okie” Darras Jr.

1921 ~ 2016

LAYTON, UT – Clement “Okie” Darras Jr., 94, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016.  He was born May 29, 1921 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Clement and Oralie Joynean Darras the youngest of three children.

Clement married Caroline Fazzio on October 8, 1949 in Price, UT.

He served in World War II in the U.S. Army.   As a young man he worked in the coal mines in Oklahoma and Utah.  He retired from the Veterans Administration after 30 plus years of service.

Clement loved camping, fishing, gardening, remodeling homes and being outdoors.

He is survived by his daughters: Carolyn (Dominic) DeRose, Farmington; Joan Ann Darras, Severence, CO; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife Caroline, sister Rosalee Peace, brother, Henry Darras and grandson Michael Cole.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
