"TOGETHER AGAIN"

Our father, uncle, brother, grandpa, and friend, Cleon Max Oliver, 88, joined his wife for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and reunion Thursday, November 27, 2014.

He was born January 8, 1926 in South Jordan, Utah, a son of Gilbert J. and Ilene Rindlisbacher Oliver. He grew up in Anaconda, Montana and later moved to Roy, Utah.

Max served his country during WWII in the US Navy as a Seabee serving in Okinawa.

On April 3, 1946, Max married Joan Weathers in Roy, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 28, 1949. Joan preceded him in death March 17, 2009.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in Bishoprics, was a High Priest, Scout Master and in the extraction programs.

During his lifetime he worked for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company, the railroad, and as a building contractor. He took great pride in his craftsmanship abilities and he influenced many future builders. One of his greatest joys was making wood creations in his shop and sharing them with family members and friends.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and western movies and music.

Max is survived by three sons, Shane Max (Chris) Oliver, Layton; Tim J. (Sherry) Oliver, Roy; Ross (Tami) Oliver, Hooper; one daughter, Trudy (Scott) Hatch, Cokeville, WY; a nephew, Chad (Jolene) Zito, Roy; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bonnie Openshaw, Roy; Shirla Montgomery, South Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandchild, a great-grandchild and his siblings: Don, Beth, Lillie, Reah, Norman, and Robert.
