Cleone Hipwell Wall

1934 ~ 2020

Cleone Hipwell Wall, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on December 11, 2020 in Layton, Utah.  She was born in Ogden, Utah on April 18, 1934 to Ellis Albert and Mary Elizabeth Staker Hipwell.  She was raised in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Weber High School.

She married Wayne Wall on January 29, 1953 in the Salt Lake City temple.  Soon after their wedding Wayne left for the army and after basic training was sent to France.  A year later, at the age of nineteen, Cleone traveled alone to France to join him and they lived there until his enlistment was over.  She is the mother of four sons and three daughters.  Cleone is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities.  She liked gardening and was especially proud of her rose garden.  She also liked to sew, crochet and cross stitch.  She enjoyed working on family history and volunteered at the Family History Center.  She also volunteered at McKay-Dee Hospital.  She loved serving others.

Cleone was preceded in death by a daughter Susan, her parents, two brothers Dee Hipwell and Grant Hipwell, two sisters Elaine Stauffer and Carol Garner.  She is survived by her husband Wayne, her children; Steven (Diane) Wall, Diane (Paul) Laprevote, David (Pietra) Wall, Todd (Robyn) Wall, Bruce Wall, Jeannie Wall, 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  One of Cleone’s favorite things to do was to spend time with her grandchildren.

We will miss her love, life lessons and laughter.

A private family funeral service will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. (Those who would like to attend virtually may contact the family for a YouTube live video link).

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
