Clifford O. Walston

Clifford O. Walston passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home in Sun City Grand, Surprise, Arizona.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Clif was born in Kampsville, Illinois on October 2, 1917 the son of Alvie and Loretta Barnes Walston.

He moved to Ogden as a teenager with his mother Loretta and loving stepfather, Ralph Bella. Clif graduated from Ogden High School and later attended Weber College. Clif married his loving wife of 70 years, Barbara Jeanne Arnold on September 6, 1941.

He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1943, and spent the war years aboard destroyers in the South Pacific.

Clif was employed by General Mills and later retired from Hill Air Force Base. Clif embarked on a third career, selling real estate until moving to Fresno in 1976.

Clif and Barbara spent many wonderful years with family camping, boating, golfing, and traveling, as well as many years square and ballroom dancing.

Clif is survived by his daughter, Lynne Greenwood (AK/Kent); grandson, Kristopher Kent Greenwood (Mejken); and five wonderful grandchildren: Ashlynd, Colton, Savannah, Sophia, and Ava.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the North Ogden Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North. Friends may visit family Saturday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
